Renowned journalist Barbara Walters will deliver the Meliora Weekend 2012 keynote address on Saturday, Oct. 13.

Watlers, currently a correspondent for ABC News and creator, co-host and executive producer of ABC’s “The View,” has held numerous other broadcast jobs over the years, including host of “The Barbara Walters Specials” and host and chief correspondent of ABC News’ “20/20.” She is widely known for the multitude of interviews she has conducted with famous world figures, including, among many others, Great Britain’s former Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, Cuban President Fidel Castro and every American president and first lady since Richard Nixon.

Craig Ferguson, the Emmy Award-nominated host of CBS’ “The Late Late Show,” will be this year’s Meliora Weekend featured comedian.

For the first time, a lottery system will be used to distribute tickets to this year’s keynote address due to high demand for tickets at live registration in recent years. The lottery will take place in July.
