The Yellowjackets earned another point in the win column as they defeated the Rochester Institute of Technology Tigers 2-0 Wednesday. The shutout resulted from a strong and unyielding defense that allowed just three shots on net. Most of the credit belongs to junior goaltender Adrianne Hulchanski, who was named Defensive Player of the Week by […]

Extreme situations spark bravery
I was back home in Ithaca for summer, "babysitting" my brother by watching TV alone upstairs, when disaster arrived in the form of a rainbow TV screen with dire words sprinting across the bottom. My eyes jumped from word to word. Ithaca had been issued a tornado warning. The tornado would arrive in Ithaca at […]
Eastman students should vote in November's election
Americans will head to the polls to elect a new president on Nov. 2. Eighteen to 25-year-olds have the opportunity to be an influential voting bloc in this year's election, but many choose not to vote because they feel that this election will not affect them. It will. Below are several reasons why Eastman students […]

Singles champion and senior Partha Bhattacharya defeated Peter Pine of […]

The UR community will come together for its fifth Meliora Weekend on the weekend of Oct. 8-10, and the staff working on it is enthusiastic. "We're just really excited about it," junior and Meliora Weekend student co-chair Jessica Kernan-Dudley said. A lot of preparation and work have gone into it. "Student workers begin in the […]
Moore provides only propaganda in '9/11'
For those of you who are about to see "Fahrenheit 9/11" on campus this weekend, I am drafting an addendum. I saw it twice in the theater and actually read both of Michael Moore's books, so to imply that I am some whacked-out conservative swinging blindly would be wholly incorrect. I am a whacked-out conservative […]
