After spring break, the women’s tennis team returned with a 1-2 spring record. The team lost to the University of California Santa Cruz 9-0 and Division II California State University at Sonoma 8-1, and had a win over Mills College 8-1.”The women [have] two losses to strong opponents from UC Santa Cruz and Sonoma,” Head Coach Anna Khvalina said. The only win came at No. 1 doubles with senior Tara Pajoohi and senior Joanna Toke winning 9-7 over their Division II opponents.On March 11, the women’s team ended spring break with a victory over Mills College. Earning their first career victories, freshman Dana Sall defeated Ayako Oshima at No. 5 singles 6-0, 6-3, and fellow freshman Maya Gume defeated Miya Sneed at No. 6 singles, 6-2, 6-2. At No. 3 singles sophomore Jaymi Della defeated Emma Panui 7-5, 6-3. At No. 4 singles sophomore Tessa Baker defeated Kassi Kappelos 7-5.The team of Baker and Della won 8-0 at No. 3 doubles.
