For the last home game of the season, the URochester Yellowjackets competed against the Carnegie Mellon Tartans. As is traditional for the last home game, this game was senior night, meaning that the eight seniors on the team received recognition before the game began. This included flowers and a nice spiel about them as they walked onto the field with their family members.

The women played very defensively in the first half, doing everything they could to keep the Tartans from scoring. Unfortunately, 28 minutes into the first half, Tartans second-year Midfield/Forward Arianna Peart (19) scored the first, and only, goal of the game. Though many more attempts were made, nothing was able to get past ’Jackets first-year Goalie Kate Cunningham (1).

Still, the ’Jackets made many attempts on goal, including third-year Defense Remi Cherkas (11) attempt to score in the second half. Also with shots-on-goal were third-year Midfield/Forward Hannah Nagashima (13), second-year Midfield/Forward Jane Mueller (21), second-year Midfield/ForwardAva Schmidt (25), and fourth-year Midfield Maya Bravo (4).

Though the score wasn’t the ideal hope for a last home game for the seniors, the season isn’t over yet. The ’Jackets will be travelling to Georgia for their final game of the season against the Emory University Eagles on Nov. 7.
