Looking to catch some exciting new musical theatre this weekend?

Check out “Convenience,” which opens May 14 at Geva Theatre.

“This is exactly the kind of fresh, catchy theatre that would have appealed to me when I was in college,” Geva Theatre PR Manager Meg Devine said.

“Convenience,” by Gregg Coffin, is a sung-through musical about the relationship difficulties faced by a middle-aged mom and her estranged 26-year-old son.

The show chronicles a week in their lives, as the son tries to get up the courage to tell his mom he’s gay and the mother tries to tell her son that she’s getting remarried.

“Convenience” had its world premiere at Geva Theatre’s Nextstage in the fall of 2000.

Now, the show will move to the Mainstage at Geva, offering more theatregoers the chance to experience this dynamic and original musical.

“Convenience” stars Mary Jo McConnell and Jim Poulos. Poulos is a veteran of Broadway, having played Mark in RENT.

“Convenience” runs from May 14 – June 16. For tickets or more info, call the Box Office at 232-GEVA.

We also introduce ourselves and our projects, what we hope to achieve during our terms, and we provide progress updates regarding past management’s pursuits. Read More

Most of these pills, however, would remain untouched, left over in the patient’s medical cabinet or kitchen pantries for potential misuse. A team of researchers led by URMC’s Dr. Jacob Moalem set out to reduce these opioid overprescriptions. Read More
