I remember the first time that I went to Bazil Restaurant it was my first night in Rochester during my college-visiting road trip, and my family decided to eat at the nice-looking place that was conveniently located right next to our hotel. Even though it is purely a Rochester phenomenon, it felt like home as soon as we walked in. The casual atmosphere and the smells that are so uniquely Italian enveloped us. It was so good that I have gone back again and again.

Less than 10 minutes away from campus on East Henrietta Road, Bazil offers students a vast selection of food to choose from and more than enough to eat. It is your classic Italian fare, but it is always done right.

Dinner starts with unlimited refills of the house salad or tasty minestrone soup for anyone ordering an entre. Next comes your choice from two menu pages that are devoted to all-you-can-eat pastas or ravioli. They have plenty of pizzas, meat and seafood dishes, too. My favorite has to be the Meat Lasagna, but the Chicken Parmesan, as well as the create-your-own pasta, are other good choices. There is bound to be something for everyone to get excited about.

So, if your family is still in town, head out to Bazil for one last home-cooked meal. If not, convince your RA to organize a hall dinner at some place other than Danforth Dining Center. You won’t come back to UR hungry!
