An article previously displayed here about a meeting held by Eastman administration due to Joshua Bell’s impending visit and rumors of sexual misconduct, published April 12, has been retracted.

After hearing of some issues, and reviewing a recording of the event, we found that the article numerous times misquoted Eastman Dean of Students Jamal Rossi as well as several students at the event. We also found that other interactions were mischaracterized through omitted quotes. This retraction is not related to our characterization of Joshua Bell and the rumors that brought the meeting about.

For these reasons, the article is no longer on our website. We take what we do seriously, but mistakes do sometimes occur in the process. We will work to better review pieces prior to publication. We apologize for the error.
