Come be a part of one of the UR’s biggest cultural celebrations.

Mela, the annual showcase of the Association for the Development of Interest in the Indian Subcontinent, is being presented on Saturday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. in Strong Auditorium.

“We have a variety of performances, such as traditional and modern dance performances, songs, instrumentals and comedic skits,” said George Varghese, Publicity Director for ADITI.

The show will be followed by a dinner catered by India Caf in Douglass Food Court.

Meltdown 2002, the after-party, will take place at Mandarin Buffet from 11 p.m. to 3 a.m.

According to Varghese, about 850 to 1000 people usually come to the show.

Last year’s performance nearly sold out.

Tickets are $2 for just the performance, and $8 for the performance and dinner. They can be purchased in the Common Market, or in Douglass until Friday. Performance tickets will also be available at the door.

Tickets to Meltdown 2002 are $3 and are available only at the door.

Smith can be reached at ksmith@campustimes.org.
