1. Rochester resident Charles Judge, 56, was arrested for trespassing on Saturday, Oct. 16.

According to UR Security Investigator Daniel Lafferty, Security officers discovered Judge’s presence on campus after getting reports of a man in a Wilson Common ladies’ room.

When questioned about this claim, Judge admitted that he had been in the ladies’ room, but only because he could not locate the men’s room.

The suspect had previously been issued a ban form and told to stay off University property.

After the incident, Judge was taken into police custody and removed from the property.

2. Security officers patrolling the area around Kendrick Road and Valentine Lot came across an individual stopping people and asking them for gas money at 1:44 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 16.

Officers approached the suspect and told him to move along. He eventually complied, but according to Lafferty, “was quite vocal about it.”

Student transported to Strong for electrical shock

3. On Saturday, Oct. 16, a student sustained an electrical shock while plugging in a lamp in Todd Union.

The student was plugging a lamp into an extension cord when the incident occurred. According to Lafferty, the student recalled seeing sparks just before sustaining the shock.

Both the Rochester Fire Department and UR Facilities responded to the scene, and it was determined that the lamp was the cause of the shock. Facilities staff then removed it from the building.

The student was transported to the Strong Memorial Hospital Emergency Department for care.

Another projector is tampered with

4. Sometime before 2 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 15, an unidentified suspect tampered with a projector in a computer science conference room.

According to Lafferty, staff members using the room noticed that a ceiling tile had been displaced and the projector had been moved. Departmental staff members were contacted, who then notified Security.

The projector was still in place and undamaged.

Quidditch game results in injury

5. On Sunday, Oct. 17, a member of the UR Quidditch team was transported from Goergen Athletic Center to Strong Memorial Hospital after sustaining a thigh injury.

According to Lafferty, the injury resulted when the student was kicked in the thigh during a game.

Money stolen from staff member’s pocket

6. A staff member left his jacket hanging in the employee hallway near The Commons and reported that $130 was stolen from the pocket at some point between 8 and 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 16.
