The sun is hot, birds are chirping, everything is starting to bloom again and college coeds are? dancing around in barely-there bathing suits. Spring break is a great time to go somewhere warm and let loose for a week. And wherever you go this break, chances are you will be on the lookout for someone special to warm you up during the long days when there’s nothing to do.

Spring break is the time when everyone gets a little bit crazier than they usually would be. Maybe it’s the break from Rochester, studying and exams. Or maybe it’s because of the substances we consume. Either way, it’s hard to go away without looking for someone special – if not for the long term, at least for the night.

If you go somewhere warm this break, whether it be Florida, Mexico or anywhere else, the temptations will be rising faster than the heat. We’ve all seen “Girls Gone Wild,” or at least been subjected to the commercial multiple times on late night television. Sure, this isn’t the norm, but it is the stereotype of a college girl away on spring break. Of course, “Guys Gone Wild” has also become a mainstream video, showing us that males are no less guilty of spring break pleasures.

Basically, everyone will be having fun in the sun and meeting new and exciting people. A spring break romance could be a great experience. Spend the day on the beach, dance the night away, wake up late the next day and do it all over again. Life doesn’t get much better than that.

For those staying in the cold, there is hope for a spring fling. Sure, you won’t be running around in a bikini or dancing for some guy with a camera. But there is plenty of opportunity for dating. If there is nothing else to do, girls can get a guy to take them out to dinner, a movie and maybe even a fun museum like the Strong Museum of Play.

Don’t let the wind and the cold stop you from making the most of spring break. Just remember that you don’t have to go to class or work or do any of your other commitments. Spend the day lounging on the couch, go out dancing, wake up late and do the whole thing over again. Doesn’t sound much different than going somewhere hot.

No matter where you go, spring break is the perfect time to meet new people and have a lot of fun. The biggest problem with meeting someone over break is that it probably won’t last more than the week, unless you are willing to put some effort into your relationship. But if you’re just looking for some temporary companionship, then spring break is the perfect time.

But spring break hook-ups aren’t for everyone. If you are in a relationship, I wouldn’t advise it. Sure, what happens in Mexico stays in Mexico, but it’s probably going to hurt you. You might find yourself alone when you get home, missing out on many nights of fun for just one on spring break.

Ever since the invention of the wheel, humanity’s been blessed with one terrible curse: the realization that all things are, in fact, cyclical.

Is it bad? Definitely not! But I found myself continually checking my phone to see how many tracks were left.
