An unidentified suspect entered a room in the first floor of Anderson Tower and stole a student’s laptop computer and $80 in cash from another student between 10:30 and 11:30 p.m. on Oct.13, according to UR Security Investigator Dan Lafferty.

The laptop, which was valued at $2,000, was taken from the student’s desk, but nothing else was disturbed or stolen. The suite and room doors were both unlocked, and no one was in the room at the time the incident occurred, according to security.

Undergrad mugged on Brooks Street

An undergraduate student walked along Brooks St. toward Genesee St. and was approached by a group of 18 to 20- year-olds on Sept. 29. One asked for directions, and another then demanded the student’s wallet. The student refused and three others grabbed him from behind. The student was then shoved and at one point pushed to the ground. The suspects took the student’s wallet and ran toward Genesee St. No weapon was used, and the student declined medical attention.

Visitor punched on Fraternity Quad

A UR Security officer witnessed a Sigma Alpha Mu brother punch a visitor in the face near Drama House shortly after 3 a.m. on Oct. 12.

The suspect stated that he struck the victim as a result of the visitor’s harassment of a fellow fraternity brother, according to Lafferty.

The victim received only a minor injury, and declined medical attention.

At the time of the incident, the victim decided not to file a police report.

Wallet stolen from purse in Carlson

An unidentified suspect stole a graduate student’s wallet from her purse while she was studying in the third floor of Carlson Library between 4:50 and 4:56 p.m. on Oct. 11.

The student did not watch her purse while she was working during the time period, according to Lafferty.

The wallet contained her cash, credit cards and other personal items.

A police report was to be filed via 311, according to UR Security.

Student awakes to see male suspect

A female undergraduate awoke from a nap shortly before 1 p.m. to discover that an unidentified person was in her room on the fourth floor of Tiernan, according to Lafferty.When she said something to the male suspect, he immediately left the room.The suspect was seen running through the halls toward the stairs by other residents, according to security.

Security was notified and a search of the building was conducted to no avail.
