Senior forward Scott Cady is making an impact on UR soccer. On Saturday, he scored the game-winning goal in the Yellowjackets’ come-from-behind victory over Brandeis University a win that allowed UR to keep pace with Carnegie Mellon University for first place in the University Athletic Association.

A financial economics major, Cady is second on the team in points with 11, scoring five goals in 10 games with no signs of slowing down in the near future.

Cady and the Yellowjackets will take their 8-0-2 record on the road this weekend, playing tough competition in the University of Chicago and Washington University in St. Louis.

Where are you from?
Littleton, Colo. right next to Columbine.

What is your favorite food that you miss from home?
Rocky Mountain Osyters’ bull testicles. They are fried and really good.

If you had to pick one, what is your favorite food on campus?
(Long hesitation) A Pit garbage burger.

How did you get started playing soccer?
I guess like everyone. Their parent had them playing every sport. When I was 7, I was playing basketball, tee ball and little league soccer, and I guess soccer just stuck. I eventually played for a club team and played through high school and ended up here.

What was your best soccer moment?
Beating Houghton College was pretty sweet. That was two years ago.

Which do you prefer, heading a goal or kicking?
Kicking a goal from distance is pretty awesome. That’s a hard question to answer. I guess kicking a goal, blasting a shot would be the best feeling.

Any quirky pregame rituals or lucky charms?
We have a quick pep session with one of my buds on the team, just right before the meeting to get pumped for the game. His name is actually Brandon (Campbell).

The team is doing pretty well, 8-0-2 what do you think the team needs to do to keep up the wins?
Train hard, being disciplined and be focused in games. I think if we work hard and we are disciplined to do our job, we’ll come away with doing pretty well this season.

How far do you think this team can go?
We’d love to go into the final four this year. That would be huge.
