Two senior members of the Sigma Alpha Mu fraternity attempted to steal several items from Drama House Friday, April 20.

A UR Security officer and a student aide who were patrolling the Fraternity Quad discovered the students. One was standing inside the house handing items out through the window to the other student standing outside.

Upon seeing Security, the students fled through Drama House across the quad and tried to escape into the Theta Chi house?s back porch door.

The officer apprehended both students and determined that they were stealing stereo speakers and a VCR. The stolen property was returned to Drama House. Officers notified the Rochester Police Department and burglary charges were filed. The police case remains open at this time, Security Investigator Dan Lafferty said.

Help, my roommate took ECON 108!

I was willing to overlook the basic annoyances, such as his grumbling “there’s no such thing as a free lunch” when we’d pass food being given out.
