This Saturday in Upper Strong Auditorium, the female a cappella singing group Vocal Point will present their concert, “Tacopella.”

“The concert is going to be great,” Co-Business Manager of Vocal Point and junior Stephanie Doan said. “We have a lot of new songs and we’re bringing back some old favorites.”

Although Doan couldn’t reveal the reason for the unique name of the concert, she assured me that there would be something taco-ish associated with the evening. Tacos might be given away, Doan said.

The Midnight Ramblers, a male a cappella group, will make a special appearance to perform a few songs.

This year marks the 35th anniversary of Vocal Point. To commemorate that, the group is offering a greatest hits CD for $8 or $10 for two. This album, their seventh, entitled “Rochester Classics,” contains five songs.

Tickets are $5 for the show and can be purchased at the Common Market or at the door.
