If you’re looking for a wet T-shirt contest, your best bet is on Sunday, Nov. 10 at 4 p.m. when Delta Gamma will host their 15th annual Anchorsplash swim meet at the Speegle-Wilbraham Pool in the Goergen Athletic Center.

Every year the event brings dozens of competitors ready to prove that their group deserves the trophy and rowdy spectators to cheer them on. Teams will compete in swimming relays, banner contests and spirit contests as they have in past years.

Last year brought in 19 teams and raised over $2,000 for Service for Sight, an organization that aids the visually impaired.

While the majority of competitors have traditionally been UR Greek groups, there are no restrictions on who can enter. “While we do have large Greek group participation, we encourage all groups to enter,” Director of Anchorsplash and senior Vanessa Mangan said.

At Anchorsplash, expect an exhilarating show of team pride, fierce competition and, of course, hilarious sychronized swimming routines from student groups.

To register for the event, visit the Anchorsplash information table in Wilson Commons, open daily from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. through Nov. 7. The cost to compete is $25 per team. Spectator tickets are $2 at the door.
