A student was treated for a bloody lip after being attacked on the bus ride home from Senior Night early Friday morning, according to UR Security Investigator Dan Lafferty.

The victim stated that another person had punched him on the bus after an unidentified person called the attacker’s girlfriend a derogatory name.

The suspect evidently believed that the victim had made the comment and initiated action. The victim was punched more than once.

The victim said that the attacker had run off the bus after striking him. He refused to identify the attacker, who was later identified as a student athlete.

Officers responding to Delta Upsilon Fraternity at 2:00 a.m. Friday morning found the student being treated by MERT.

Undergraduate harassed at fraternity party

A female undergraduate reported that she was harassed at a fraternity party by a man who is tentatively identified as having no affiliation with the University, according to Lafferty.

The victim attended a party at the Chi Phi fraternity house on Friday night. The suspect approached her and danced predominantly with her the entire evening.

When the student attempted to leave, the suspect persistently asked for her name and phone number, which she declined to release.

The suspect then forced sexual contact with the student. As she tried to break away he grabbed her and tried to steer her up the stairs of the house. The victim was able to break free uninjured and safely returned to campus with friends.

A day or so later the victim received a phone call from the suspect and immediately hung up.

The suspect had previously been issued a ban form advising him not to be on University property. The victim notified police.

Youths caught trespassing, using computers

Two youths aged 16 and 17 were found using computer equipment in the ITS Center at 8:42 a.m. on Monday, according to Lafferty.

Staff had told the youths that they were not allowed to use the computers and needed to leave.

Police were summoned to the scene and the suspects were identified. It was discovered that they had given fake names to the officers.

The youths were arrested for trespassing and taken from the property by police.

Students escorted from Eastman Annex roof

Officers responded to an alarm activation at the Eastman School of Music Annex to find two students on the roof, according to Lafferty.

The incident occurred at 10:40 p.m. on Sunday.

The students said that they had not realized that they were not allowed on the roof. They were escorted from the roof and warned against similar activity.
