On Tuesday, Sept. 10, Foo Fighters frontman, Dave Grohl, announced on his Instagram that he had “become the father of a new baby” who was born outside of his marriage.

Grohl has been married since 2003 to his second wife, Jordyn Blum, and has been raising three children with her.

As expected, this news came as a shock to Grohl’s family. He has since expressed his love for his wife and kids and stated that he plans to “regain their trust and their forgiveness.” Grohl has also voiced his intention to be a loving father to his new daughter despite the situation.

Grohl ended his short announcement by focusing on all of the children involved and expressing hope for the future.

Unsurprisingly, this is not the first time that Grohl has been caught or accused of cheating. These scandals date back to the 90s when he was still a part of Nirvana — which faced a famously tragic end due to the death of the band’s singer, Kurt Cobain, in 1994.

Infidelity was the reason for the divorce of Grohl’s first wife in 1997 and the ending of relationships prior to his first marriage as well.

According to Blum’s friends, she was “shocked” to hear the news of the birth of Grohl’s fourth child. Given his history, this doesn’t seem shocking, especially because Grohl’s behavior has been an issue in their marriage before.

Despite this news coming so suddenly, long-time followers of Grohl will not be surprised to hear this and will likely continue to listen to his music anyway.
