A female student in Susan B. Anthony Halls awoke at 6:15 a.m. on Sunday to find an unidentified male standing near her bed, according to UR Security Investigator Dan Lafferty.

When the victim awoke, the suspect left the room immediately. The victim looked outside and saw the suspect meet up with two other people in the hall.

Immediately, the trio left the area.

Upon returning to her room, the victim found that the suspect had urinated all over the room floor. UR Security checked the area for the suspect but could not locate him.

Danforth Dining Center’s staff reported the theft of a keycard blackboard unit valued at $2,900, according to Lafferty. The theft occurred sometime between Oct. 22 at 9 p.m. and Oct. 23 at noon.

No police report has been filed about the incident yet, however UR Security encourages anyone with information about the theft to contact them at x5-3333.

Two students waiting for a RTS bus were accosted by an unidentified individual last Thursday, according to Lafferty.

The individual had been asking the students for money, according to their reports. They denied the panhandler, however he intensified his efforts.

The students reported that they were able to get around the person and walk back to the Eastman Commons building, where they summoned UR Security.

The suspect had left the area walking eastbound on East Avenue and was not subsequently located.

The students were not injured but were transported back to the River Campus by UR Security because they had missed their bus as a consequence of the suspect’s actions.

The fire alarm sounded in the basement of Eastman Commons on Friday, prompting the arrival of the Rochester Fire Department.

Upon their arrival, the RFD found that a smoke machine was being used at an approved event, however it had inadvertently tripped the fire alarm.

The initial fire alarm was sounded at 9:30 p.m.

After responding to the scene, RFD shut down the smoke machine and removed it for safekeeping.

They subsequently ventilated the room for safety.

The fire alarm was then reset and the RFD left the scene.

An Environmental Services employee was transported by ambulance to the Strong Memorial Hospital Emergency Department on Friday, according to Lafferty.

The employee had been working on the fourth floor of Hutchison Hall when she experienced pain in her chest and arm.

The employee was transported without incident and was evaluated and cared for at the hospital.Information provided by UR Security.
