1. On Dec. 7 at 2:52pm, residents of Drama House called and reported a suspicious male trying to gain access into the house. Responding Public Safety officers located a male entering a car on Fraternity Road. The male asked officers if they were looking for him. The male was asked if he was trying to gain entry into Drama House. The male stated that he used to be a brother of the fraternity that occupied the house in 1991. The male stated that he was in downtown Rochester and felt nostalgic and wanted to see his old frat house. Residents inside Drama House had no contact with the male and never let him in. The male was identified and warned. The male apologized and was sent on his way.

2. On Nov. 30 at 7:48pm, DPS officers responded to a report of a male mumbling and asking people for money in Goergen Hall lobby. Officers located the male, who told officers he was there to get money. A check showed that the male had been banned from property in the past and that he should not be on UR property. The male was then placed under arrest for trespassing. The male was taken to the DPS Office to be processed and then transported to Monroe County Jail by Rochester Police.

3. On Dec. 9 at 6:10pm, an undergraduate reported their video game system was taken from the Susan B. Anthony building. The student stated that they left the video game system in an unsecured common lounge area overnight. When the student returned the next day, the game console was missing. No one was seen in the area taking the game. The value of the game console was $235.

‘It’s a Quality of Life Issue:’ Students, admin to discuss improvements to Innovation shuttle service

Changes to the transportation to Innovation Square may be on the horizon, as students living in housing in downtown Rochester have voiced concerns about the lack of convenient afternoon and late-evening transportation to and from the River Campus. 

“Jaws in Concert” was a Splash

The Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra played the score of the film live, while the movie itself was projected above the musicians. It was a beautiful performance and an affectionate tribute to such a famous film. 

Why this hurricane season felt off

One quiet season for U.S. impacts does not mean climate scientists were wrong. It means that we got lucky. Scientists predicted favorable conditions for intense hurricanes, and we got three Category 5 hurricanes.
