Is it normal for a guy to last fewer than 15 minutes during sex?

~Questionable Stamina

Dear Questionable Stamina,

I don’t like to use the word “normal,” but let’s just say that for guys our age, only about five percent regularly last for less than 15 minutes.

The majority of males our age last between 15 minutes and one hour, and about 30 percent last more than one hour.

There are some statistics on this subject that may help you find a more detailed answer to your question. As men age, fewer are able to last longer than one hour, and more begin to last less than 15 minutes. Also, single men who aren’t living with a partner last the longest during sex. Married men are five times more likely than single men to spend 15 minutes or less in a sexual encounter.

Interestingly enough, men who don’t practice any religion last longer than men who practice religion.

Many people equate long-lasting sex with great sex. However, this doesn’t have to be the case.

An encounter can be short and sweet, just as long as the partners involved use their time wisely.

This means that if you and your partner aren’t getting past the 15 minute mark, you need to figure out what you like most and concentrate on that.

Also, talk about what can be done to make things last longer – maybe speeding up here or slowing down there can help build the guy’s stamina. Don’t be disappointed if sex is lasting less than 15 minutes – there are plenty of people out there who would be jealous of you for having sex in the first place! Studies have shown both women and men have reported that they like “quickies” more than any other type of sex.

One female told me that she likes quicker sex better “because it’s the most passionate when you don’t have much time … I find it more satisfying than long sex.”

Quick sex also allows you to have more time in a day.

It is pretty hard to get your laundry done and write a paper if you are horizontal and rather “distracted.”

The stamina of a guy can sometimes relate to his physical and mental condition.

It has been speculated that men who are more physically fit last longer in the bedroom.

Researchers also say that sometimes a man’s low self-esteem can subtract from how long he lasts.

So, is lasting less than 15 minutes normal?

Perhaps not – but any sexual encounter can be made enjoyable if both parties take the time to try.

I am a firm believer that after enough hard work, you can turn those 15 minutes into the best you’ve ever had.
