Sometime prior to 8:52 p.m. last Friday unknown persons distributed derogatory fliers regarding Delta Kappa Epsilon in the academic tunnels, Hutchinson and Morey Halls. A member of the fraternity found some of the fliers and notified security. One of the fliers was placed under the windshield wiper of a parked security vehicle and was collected by the officer assigned to the vehicle, according to UR Security investigator Dan Lafferty.

Car broken into at the Medical Center

A visitor to UR reported that unidentified suspects broke into her secured vehicle and stole property valued at $2,070 between 7 and 9 p.m. last Thursday evening. The vehicle was parked in Lot 3 of the Medical Center, and there were no signs of forced entry. Items stolen include a cell phone, pager, jewelry, a computer disc and makeup items. The victim filed a report with the Rochester police department, Lafferty said.

Card reader ripped off Wilder Tower door

A student security aid patrolling Anderson and Wilder Towers on Sunday reported finding the card reader for the entrance to Wilder Tower facing Intercampus Drive had been stolen by unidentified suspect(s).

The discovery was made at 3:37 a.m., and the door handle as well as the base for the emergency phone in the vestibule area were loosened from the wall as well. The card reader is valued at an estimated $1,000, according to security reports.

Leather jacket stolen from outside Kilbourn

A student reported the theft of his leather jacket from outside Kilbourn Hall last Sunday between 9 and 10:30 p.m.

The student had placed his jacket on a bench outside the Hall when her performed, and his keys and cell phone were in the jacket pocket. There were items in the area belonging to other students that apparently were not disturbed. The students estimates his property was valued at $310, Lafferty said.

Snow penis erected behind Sue B.

A 12 foot snow sculpture resembling a penis was built behind Susan B. Anthony Residence Halls last evening. Security arrived soon after its completion and dissembled the sculpture.

Student loses keys and card in bathroom

A student residing in Lovejoy Hall reported accidentally leaving his ID card and keys on a shelf in a fourth floor bathroom and discovering them missing. The student checked the immediate area for the items to no avail, Lafferty said.

UR staff member approached for money

Shortly after 3 p.m. Feb. 6, a staff member walking through the Mt. Hope Professional building was asked for money by an unidentified male. The employee responded that she did not have any money and the suspect left. After being notified, security surveyed the area for the suspect with no results.
