It?s toe-tapping time with the Association for Development of Interest in the Indian Subcontinent. ADITI invites you to Mela, its annual cultural celebration Saturday, April 14.

There will be a show in Strong Auditorium from 4 to 6 p.m., followed by a dinner in Douglass Food Court at 6:30 p.m. and the Meltdown Party at Mandarin Chinese Buffet on Jefferson Road from 11 p.m. to 3 a.m.

?We are having over 100 performers at the show,? junior and club president Rahul Seth said. ?There will be traditional singing and energetic South Asian dances that have a blend of hip hop and folk music.?

There will be numerous performances at the cultural show, comprised of instrumental and vocal acts and group dances, including bhangra and dandia. There will also be a fashion show displaying South Asian cultural dress. In between acts, comical skits will be performed by students to keep the audience amused, Seth said.

The dinner in Douglass Food Court will be catered by India Palace, a local Indian restaurant, and it promises to have a delectable assortments of Indian foods.

At the Melt-down Party, DJ Snicka from New York City will be spinning the finest in hip hop and reggae, so get ready to do some dancing. He will also be playing all types of cultural music throughout the evening. UR IDs are required to get into the party and security will be enforced.

?We guarantee to entertain,? Seth said. ?It will be a great evening.?

Cosponsoring Meltdown are ADITI, the Spanish and Latin Students? Association, the Korean American Students? Association and the Black Students? Union.

Buses will run continuously from CLARC every 20 minutes until the end of the event.

Tickets for both the dinner and show are $8 for students and $10 for the general public and are available at the Common Market.

You can also see just the show for $2 for students and $3 for the public. Tickets for these are available at the Common Market or the door. Party tickets are $4 with UR ID and are available at the door.
