Several areas on campus were sprayed with graffiti last week. A student discovered a derogatory message on the wall of the men?s bathroom near CLARC Wednesday, March 28 at 8:45 p.m. He notified UR Security. Officers photographed the graffiti and called in UR Facilities staff to begin removing the offensive writing.Security has not yet identified the person or persons responsible.The second incidence of graffiti was found on the hallway wall of the sixth floor in the Susan B. Anthony Residence Halls. A student security aide who was patrolling the building at 9:30 p.m. Thursday, March 29 discovered the writing. He reported that the graffiti was not racist or derogatory.He notified facilities that a cleanup would be required.Pornographic flyers found on boardsStudent security aides who were patrolling the SBA dorms found flyers posted on the bulletin boards which pictured ?inappropriate/offensive pornographic type material? at 1:15 a.m. Saturday, said Senior Security Investigator Dan Lafferty said. The aides also found similar flyers in Wilson Commons. They checked surrounding areas for other flyers and took them down.Rochester man arrested for larceny37-year-old Joseph Bolinsky was arrested the Rochester Police Department, on charges of petty larceny for stealing several items from the Friends of Strong Gift Shop at the Strong Memorial Hospital at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 29. The manager had called security upon noticing that Bolinsky had taken several items from the store and then left without attempting to pay for them. Officers found Bolinsky still in the hospital. He returned the items to the officers at that time. Officers called the RPD, who then arrested Bolinsky. He was issued an appearance ticket. Bolinsky is not affiliated with the university.Man reprimanded for trespassSecurity officers found a man exiting CLARC at 2 a.m. Saturday, March 31, who had previously been told to stay off university property. The officers approached the man, who ?had no legitimate purpose for being on campus,? and told him he was not to be on the property, said Lafferty. He was escorted off campus. Officers advised him that if he were to return he would be subject to arrest for trespassing on private property.
