Webster Hall, one of New York City’s biggest nightclubs, is coming to campus to host what will surely be UR’s hottest dance party of the year.

What makes this event even more special is that it’s free, thanks to the sponsorship of Campus Activities Board and UR Concerts. “Webster Hall Club Night is about taking some time out of our busy schedules as students and coming to Wilson Commons to enjoy ourselves,” CAB Administrative Chairperson and senior Jason Smith said. “[Our] hope is that people get out of their dorm rooms and come with their friends to Wilson Commons prepared to have fun, dance and get some of Webster Hall’s free giveaways,” he added.

According to Smith, the idea originated from CAB and UR Concerts adviser Melissia Schmidt, who received information about Webster Hall’s tour and the groups then decided that it would be a good event to bring to UR.

DJ Mike Pensatore is scheduled to host the party. Specializing in hip hop, R&B, reggae, hard house and progressive trance, Pensatore is known for his eclectic tastes and has long been a popular choice for clubs and promoters.

After starting his career opening for DJs Skribble, Eddie Biaz, Chase and others, Pensatore became a top DJ in his own right at Webster Hall. He also belongs to Funkmaster Flex’s Franchise Records and he is regularly broadcast on Sirius Satellite Radio which will feature his UR performance this weekend.

For a vibrant mix of music, great beats and an unforgettable nightclub experience, head over to Wilson Commons Friday night. The party runs from 10:30 p.m. to 2 a.m. so be prepared to dance your shoes off.
