A graduate student from the Eastman School of Music notified UR security when he witnessed a robbery outside the East End Parking Garage off of Swan Street on Thurs., according to UR Security Investigator Dan Lafferty.

The student reported seeing an unidentified suspect pointing a handgun at an unidentified victim and telling the victim to give him what the victim had.

The witness sought a safe location until the suspect departed the area. There was no report of any injury nor use of the weapon, according to Lafferty.

Surveillance video for the time frame show what is believed to be the suspect with the victim. Additional images of the suspect walking down Swan Street toward East Main Street were also captured. Security investigators will be following up with the Rochester Police Department regarding this incident.Freshman suffers allergic reactionSecurity officers and Medical Emergency Response Team personnel were called to the Susan B. Anthony Residence Halls to treat a student suffering from an apparent allergic reaction, according to Lafferty. The student was evaluated and transported via ambulance to Strong Memorial Hospital for further evaluation and treatment. It is unknown what caused the reaction.Book store robber apprehended On Fri., 22-year old Melissa Batterson of Rochester, was arrested by the RPD on charges of petit larceny. She was identified as stealing three books with an estimated value of over $360.

The books were recovered and returned to the bookstore. The suspect, who has no university affiliation, was issued an interim ban form advising her to remain off university property except to seek emergency medical care.Highly intoxicated freshman rescuedOfficers and MERT responded to a non-responsive, 19-year old student in Sue B. on Friday night.

The student was taken by ambulance for treatment of a high level of intoxication.

The two students who brought the suspect to campus stated she was drinking an unknown quantity of alcohol at an off-campus location. The students refused to identify the location, according to Lafferty.Student crashes Fusion dance partyA student was discovered back inside Fri. night’s Fusion party after being told to leave twice by campus authorities.

When asked to leave the party for a third time, the student threatened a security officer with physical harm. When other officers arrived on the scene the suspect left the party, according to Lafferty.

Upon the conclusion of the event, the student was still outside and continued to verbally threaten an officer. The case has since been referred to the Dean of Students’ Office for further review and possible disciplinary action.Information provided by UR Security.
