A female student told officers that she had been assaulted by an unidentified suspect in front of the Psi Upsilon Fraternity house, according to UR Security Investigator Dan Lafferty.

The victim reported the assault to security officers shortly after 3:00 a.m. on Sunday. She said that an hour earlier, the suspect had approached her, grabbed at her clothes and groped her. She stated that the suspect had used so much force it had caused her pain.

A friend of the suspect pushed him away, and the suspect departed in an unknown direction. The suspect was identified as a male of average height, between 20 and 25 years of age. He was wearing a dark-colored hoodie. Neither the victim or a witness who confirmed the events, could identify him.

The victim was offered medical treatment but denied it.

Student beaten in Fraternity house

A student claimed that he was beaten by several students in the Sigma Alpha Mu Fraternity house on the Fraternity Quad.

A security officer found the student holding a blood-covered shirt outside of the house on Sunday morning at 1:00 a.m, according to Lafferty. The victim reported that when he was inside the house, several brothers approached him and asked him to leave.

When the victim responded that he had not done anything wrong, the suspects started pushing him about and punched him several times in the head and shoulder area.

A house member provided a slightly different account of the incident, stating that he did not know who in the house had been involved.

The victim was evaluated by MERT, but refused further medical care. He sustained slight lacerations to his cheek and the back of his head and had some swelling on his face.

Cell phones stolen from Drama House

Residents called security to report that three purses in the basement of the Drama House were rifled through on Saturday night, according to Lafferty.

Three students claimed that they had placed their purses on top of a book case in the living room area. When they returned to their bags later in the night they found that all their cell phones had been stolen.

No police reports have been filed.

Bicycle found in tree near Sage Art Center

An unknown person or persons placed a mountain bike into the branches of a freshly planted tree outside of Sage Arts Center prior to 3:17 a.m. on Sunday, according to Lafferty.

Officers retrieved the bicycle from the tree and retained it for safekeeping. A limb of the tree was found to be broken.
