One of the best restaurants in Rochester for Indian food is Thali of India, located on the corner of Jefferson and Winton Roads. It was love at first taste when I tried it for myself some three years ago.

Thali offers an assortment of dishes from beef to chicken to vegetables, as well as appetizers, soups, salads and desserts. Some of my favorite dishes include Chicken Palak spicy chicken cooked with a combination of spinach, onions, ginger, garlic and tomatoes as well as the Garlic Shrimp Curry and Seafood Masala. And of course, there’s the naan bread that Thali is known for. I can’t really describe it in words. Just imagine what heaven on a piece of soft, white flour bread would taste like and you’ve got naan.

Even if you’re not a fan of spicy foods that make your tongue feel as though it has been lit on fire with every bite, you’ll be glad to know that Thali also caters to customers who prefer milder dishes. Simply tell them that you’d like the dish mild and they can easily prepare it for you.

Be sure to keep in mind that they have a dinner buffet every Monday night from 5-9:30 p.m., as well as a lunch buffet from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Sundays, where you can eat as many delectable samosas and pakoras as you want. Don’t know what samosas and pakoras are? Go to Thali of India and prepare to fall in love.

A team of researchers led by URMC’s Dr. Jacob Moalem set out to reduce these opioid overprescriptions. Read More
