Looking for a random Saturday night? Well, there will be nothing more random than In Between the Line’s Improv Chutney 2001 at 7:30 p.m. in the May Room.

Joining In Between the Lines for Chutney 2001 will be two performing groups from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst. The group Toast! will feature long-form style improv while Mission Improvable and In Between the Lines will focus on shorter structures and games much like ABC’s Whose Line Is It Anyway.

“This will be one of the best displays of improv theater Rochester has ever seen,” said Dave Howland, senior and captain of In Between the Lines. “Anyone who has seen our stuff and likes it is going to love this show.”

This will be the first time UR has put together a show of this magnitude and Howland said he hopes that it will become a yearly tradition.

On Sunday, the three troupes will spend the day workshopping and learning new improv techniques from each other.

Howland said they first learned of the idea after attending a similar event last year at U. Mass.- Amherst.

The show costs $3 for students and $5 for the general public. Everyone can get a $1 discount on their ticket if the bring a canned good, which In Between the Lines will donate to a local food pantry.
