Class of 2003Men&s tennis

Dan earned this honor through his consistent effort on the men&s tennis team so far this season. Not only did he shine during spring training and pre-season games, but he also led the Yellowjackets in their victory over Nazareth College last weekend. He won both his matches convincingly 8212; 6-1, 6-0 in his singles debut and 8-2 in his doubles match with freshman Colin Ryan.

This sophomore is curently ranked second on the team for singles and third in doubles. Off the courts, Dan also participates in the Intervarsity Christian Fellowship Council here at UR. However, mostly this Winchester, Mass. native likes to hang out with friends, play video games and read-up on the Boston Red Sox.

Dan has been playing tennis competitively since he was seven years old, and he attributes a lot of his success to his father.

&He taught me a lot,& he said. &But mostly, he taught me to be confident about myself.&

So what is his goal for this year?

&I would like to have coach Chris O&Brien take the team out to a dinner at Mickey D&s,& he said.
