Officers were summoned to Gilbert Hall to free trapped residents from a restroom at 10:30 p.m. on Sat., according to UR Security Investigator Dan Lafferty.

After responding to the call, officers found the restroom door damaged and stuck as the result of a passerby’s kick. After freeing the restroom’s occupants, officers identified the door assailant as a student residing in the building.

Facilities was notified of the broken door and the case has been referred to the Office of Residential Life and the Dean of Students’s Office, according to Lafferty.Local resident arrested trespassing Rochester resident Bradley Schaeffer, 41, was arrested by police on charges of criminal trespass and petit larceny at 11:30 p.m. on Sat., according to Lafferty.

A concerned Eastman Living Center resident reported an unfamiliar man roaming the halls earlier that night. When Schaeffer was discovered, he was found to be in possession of an Eastman student’s ID card, numerous keys to Eastman School areas and a camcorder.

The investigation that followed found that the keys and the two camcorders had been taken from a secured office on the mezzanine level of the main Eastman School building.

Investigators are currently working to determine from where Schaeffer’s other keys may have been stolen, and also to determine whether Schaeffer is associated with any other Eastman cases. Student suffers dance accidentSecurity and Medical Emergency Response Team officers were called to Wilson Commons at 10:30 p.m. last Thurs. to treat a student who had suffered head and lower back injuries while practicing dance moves, according to Lafferty.

The student was stabilized by MERT and then transported to Strong Memorial Hospital for evaluation and treatment. Students detained at fraternity SaturdaySecurity was called to the Alpha Delta Phi fraternity house at 3:00 a.m. on Saturday to remove three individuals who were refusing to leave, according to Lafferty.

The suspects were later identified as 17- and 18-year-old students from another area college. They contended that they had been invited to a rush event at the house.

The house president told security that the suspects had been caught trying to steal beer from the house and detained.

After having been held at the fraternity house, the suspects threatened a fight and security was called, according to the house president.

The suspects admitted to consuming alcohol at the fraternity, according to UR Security.

The suspects were warned by security and departed campus without further incident, according to Lafferty. Information provided by UR Security.
