A laptop belonging to a graduate student was reported stolen on Oct. 4. An unidentified suspect entered the student’s office in Dewey Hall and stole the laptop from the desk, according to UR Security Investigator Dan Lafferty. The incident occurred between 11:35 and 11:50 a.m., when the office was open and unattended. A graduate student in another office down the hall reported that an unidentified person entered the room, asked her what time it was and then left, according to Lafferty. Surrounding areas were checked for the individual with negative results, according to UR Security.In an unrelated incident, a resident of Burton Hall also reported a laptop being stolen from their residence on Sunday at midnight, according to Lafferty. The laptop was next to a window when it was stolen. The screening of the window was cut and the laptop taken from the resulting opening, according to UR Security. The student was going to file a police report with RPD.Bicycle stolen from Alpha Delta Phi A student residing in the Alpha Delta Phi fraternity house reported that his bicycle was stolen, according to Lafferty. The incident occurred between 9 p.m. on Oct. 1 and 9 a.m. on Oct. 2.According to UR Security, an unidentified suspect entered the fraternity house and stole the student’s bicycle from a room it was stored in. The estimated value of the bicycle is $400. The student has filed a report with RPD.Wallet stolen from Susan B. Anthony HallA resident of Susan B. Anthony Residence Hall reported that his wallet was stolen between 2:30 a.m and 10:30 p.m. on Oct. 4. According to UR Security, an unidentified suspect allegedly entered the student’s room while the student was asleep and stole the wallet.The wallet contained roughly $30 in cash, the student’s driver’s license and student ID card. The wallet was located on top of the mini fridge, according to Lafferty. The student became aware of the theft when he awoke.Refrigerator broken into in Slater A resident of Slater Hall reported that an unidentified male entered her suite, looked around, and drank some liquids from her refrigerator, without permission. This happened at 6:30 a.m. on Oct. 7, according to Lafferty.The student asked the individual whether she could help him, to which the individual did not respond. The individual left shortly afterwards, taking a bottle of water with him, according to UR Security.
