A student was transported to the Strong Memorial Hospital emergency department for treatment of a cut at 5:45 p.m. on Saturday, according to UR Security investigator Dan Lafferty.

Security was contacted after the student, a resident of DeKiewiet Tower, stuck his hand into a moving blender.

At the hospital, the student recieved evaluation and treatment for what is described as a “severe cut,” according to UR Security.Trespasser awakens sleeping studentUR Security was called at 4 a.m. on Sunday after a trespassing student was found standing in a female student’s room in Crosby Hall.

The female student reported that she found the trespasser when she awoke from sleep.

After he was discovered, the trespassing student left the room and was later reported to have made an obscene telephone call to the female student’s room.

The trespassing student later told UR Security that he had stopped by the room to visit the female student after an evening on the Fraternity Quad.

The student also told UR Security that his intention had not been to scare or upset the resident and that he had not placed the later phone call.

The student was warned against such behavior in the future, according to Lafferty.

The case has been referred to the office of the Dean of Students and Residential Life.

Alcohol was identified as a contributing factor to the offense, according to Lafferty.Gamer questioned by UR SecurityAn individual was observed shining a flashlight around a bus parked in the River Lot on Saturday at 2:30 a.m., according to Lafferty.

After UR Security spotted the man using the closed-circuit TV system, officers stopped him for questioning. The man told them that he was unaffiliated with the university but was in the area searching for a package as part of an Internet game featuring directions to such hidden packages using Global Positioning System technology.

Upon further questioning, officers learned that the man had been shining the flashlight at the bus because he had heard a noise and believed that the bus was inhabited by people attempting to sneak up on him, according to Lafferty.

The man was cautioned against trespassing on UR property and left without incident.Bottle shatters fraternity windowAn unknown person threw a bottle through a window at the Alpha Delta Phi fraternity house at 2:30 a.m. on Sunday, according to Lafferty.

No one was injured in the incident and fraternity members covered the damage temporarily with a tarp.
