Rohrbach Highland Ale

An awesome beer. This ale has a warm, smooth taste, which is not for the amateur beer drinker. It has complex flavors that are best for the beginning of a night or early afternoon. Straight from the Rohrbach Brewing Co., Rohrbach easily compliments any type of wings. Although it is on the more filling side, you don’t want to stop drinking it. I give this beer 4 steins out of 5.

Saranac Black and Tan

Made by the Matt Brewing Company of Utica, this dark, full-flavored beer is not overly filling like an Irish Car Bomb. It is easy to drink a couple of them and not feel full. The best time to drink Saranac Black and Tan is with a meal, preferably meat (sorry vegetarians). This is a good beer to show off your classy tendencies. Also, it is a pleasant surprise because most people drink the company’s pale ale. I give this beer 4 steins out of 5.

Honey Brown

This beer is the best that the High Falls Brewing Company of Rochester has to offer. Granted, that is not saying much, but this brew has a wonderful honey taste that is rarely found. Since we go to UR, it is nice to drink a beer made in our backyard. One bottle is great, but a pitcher is hard to finish because the heavy honey taste is overwhelming. I give this beer 3 steins out of 5.

Genesee

This beer is perfect for that regular Beirut game. It has a full taste, which is not filling but does not taste like water. If you try hard enough, you can almost taste the “$3.99 for 12 cans” sticker on the top of the can. This beer is perfect for sitting around watching television or drinking before a long night out. It is a fun brew, which is truthfully not that bad. I give this beer 2 steins out of 5.

Genesee Cream Ale

This beer sucks. ‘Nuff said. I give this beer half a stein out of 5.
