‘Ambiance. Atmosphere. Appetite.” In merely three words, the alliterative slogan captures the pleasure of dining at Hogan’s Hideaway. A fixture on Park Ave. for nearly 30 years, Hogan’s Hideaway has become a local favorite. The restaurant thrives on fulfilling three fundamental goals: make food fresh, make the place homely and make people want to come back time and time again.

The menu features everything from well-cooked burgers to high-end blackboard ‘specials.” Hogan’s is reputed for serving only fresh fish and meats and homemade bread, pasta and desserts.

The breads, soups and salads certainly whet your appetite. The house salads are simple yet delightful, all topped with homemade dressings. A popular choice, the French Onion Soup, is served with melted cheese and is redolent of caramelized onions. The blackboard specials cover the spectrum from meat entres to pasta dishes. Being a vegetarian, I have enjoyed dishes such as the Eggplant Parmigiana, the Pita Pocket and the Vegetarian Stir Fry. Despite the large main portions, missing out on dessert would be a shame. Delve into a slice of the Kahlua Chip Cheesecake or the Coconut Lemon Cream Pie. You won’t regret it.

Hogan’s Hideaway is the optimal culinary choice for any occasion. Next time you’re on Park Ave., stop by Hogan’s and treat yourself to a satisfying and hearty meal.
