The Yellowjackets earned another point in the win column as they defeated the Rochester Institute of Technology Tigers 2-0 Wednesday. The shutout resulted from a strong and unyielding defense that allowed just three shots on net. Most of the credit belongs to junior goaltender Adrianne Hulchanski, who was named Defensive Player of the Week by the University Athletic Association for last week’s stint against both Union and William Smith College. The first goal was scored at 67:35 when sophomore Maureen Dudiak collected a rebound off the Tiger’s goaltender and slid the ball into the left-corner post. Then at 76:52, senior Karen Forsythe airmailed a corner kick for sophomore Ashley Weagraff to head into the net and give the Yellowjackets the final score 2-0. Both Weagraff and Dudiak recorded their first goals of the season and helped the offense break away from its previous slump. The next match will be on the road for the Yellowjackets against SUNY Oswego. Afterward, they will travel to New York University to commence conference play.
