Mike is a sophomore defensive back for the UR men?s soccer team. He was nominated by Dennis O? Donnell to be this week?s UAA Athlete of the Week and by coach Chris Apple to be this week?s Notable Yellowjacket.

?Mike was instrumental to the team?s first three victories,? Apple said. ?He assisted twice in the win over Nazareth College and scored two goals against St. John Fisher and anchored a defense that held SUNY Geneseo to only four shots on goal.?

Mike has been playing soccer for about 12 years and is a graduate from Spencerport High School. He is currently majoring in Biomedical Engineering.

This season, Mike plans to ?try to stay healthy and help the team reach its potential, to try to win our conference.?

And Mike knows that teamwork is the key to reach this goal. ?We go into every game with a must win mentality because that is what we must do to be successful as a team and as individuals.?
