? Sophomore Mary LeBrun and junior Lisa Johns finished first and second consecutively at the opening cross-country meet with personal records. According to coach Barbara Hartwig, ?both took control of the race at about the half way point and never looked back.? In fact, Johns dropped about two minutes ? significantly better than last year ? in a course that is about 220 meters longer than usual.

? Freshman setter Liz Loveless had 121 assists, 42 digs, nine blocks, three aces and 29 kills in a 1-4 week for the Yellowjackets. During a five-game win Saturday against Alfred University, Loveless had 10 kills and hit .588. She also had 28 assists and four digs.

? Sophomore goalkeeper Sarah Malecki posted her first career shutout Saturday when UR grabbed a 3-0 win over SUNY Geneseo, a team which is ranked No. 10 regionally in the first poll. She totaled three saves. Malecki red-shirted the goalkeeper spot after UR?s goalie Kate Donhauser graduated last May.
