A police investigation on South Plymouth Avenue, which the University notified campus residents of on Monday, January 21 at approximately 8:15 p.m., turned out to be a “false call,” according to Rochester police investigators.
The incident was located on the 1100 block of South Plymouth Ave., north of Riverview apartments. Alert UR, the University’s notification system, advised recipients to “stay away from [the] area” and to “remain sheltered.”
Captain Ray Decoup said that precautions were taken due to the investigation’s proximity to the school. At 10:45 p.m., recipients were notified of the investigation’s conclusion.
No one is in custody or under arrest for the incident. Coverage can be found at Democrat & Chronicle. For Alert UR information, click here.
