UR men’s basketball is officially on the map.
National recognition for UR all started when D3Hoops.com ranked the YellowJackets the #7 in the Men’s Top 25 Pre-season poll. On top of that, junior point guard John DiBartolomeo, who earned All-American recognition following the conclusion of last season, was named a pre-season All-American.
And now, the icing has been added to the cake: ESPN.com college sports writer Graham Hays recently published a terrific article about senior forward Nate Novosel and his twin sister Natalie Novosel, who helped lead the University of Notre Dame women’s basketball team to the 2010-2011 National Championship game against Texas A&M (Texas A&M won the championship game, 76-70).
The main focus of the piece is Natalie and her progression as a basketball player, but the story mentions Nate countless times and even features a couple pictures of the former UAA Rookie of the Year. Let’s call it a 60-40 coverage split in favor of Natalie.
